America’s Credit Unions has announced its keynote speaker for the Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) 2027. The event, which draws thousands of credit union professionals from around the country, will be held February 28 through March 4 in Washington D.C.
Headlining the event will be former presidential advisor and national security authority Admiral William H. McRaven. A retired U.S. Navy Four-Star admiral, McRaven advised former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Per America’s Credit Unions, his keynote “will translate the hard-won lessons learned in four-plus decades of commanding special operations forces at every level into practical insights on resilience, teamwork, and service.”
In 2011, McRaven was first runner-up for TIME’s “Person of the Year,” due in large part to his oversight of the mission that brought down Osama Bin Laden. He also served as Chancellor of the University of Texas System, and is a published author covering warfare, history, and self-help.
